Legion branch re-union
Ulster Star circa 1980 CAPTAIN W. F. Irvine, chairman, presided at the annual
reunion of the Lisburn British Legion Branch in the
Sackville Street premises 50 years ago this month. He was
accompanied at the top table by the Right Honourable J.
Milne Barbour, DL. MP., Minister of Commerce, Captain C.
O'Bierne, County Inspector, Mr. John D. Barbour,
Captain T. H. Mayes, honorary treasurer of the Legion's
Ulster Area Council, Mr. Hugh A. Dorman, chairman of Lisburn
Urban Council, Mr. James Duff, Mr. T. M. Harvey, Mr. Charles
Montgomery, honorary secretary, etc.
Speakers included Mr. Duff. The Right Honourable J. Milne
Barbour, Mr. John D. Barbour and Captain Mayes.
A musical programme was given by the Copeland Brothers from
Newtownards, Mr. Woodburn, Belfast and Mr. Hall Greer. Mr.
David G. Leinster was the accompanist.
Dr. Joseph G. Johnston, President of the branch, arrived
late owing to another engagement and was given a hearty
reception.
