Moira Guides go back in time

1st Moira Guides spent a wonderful weekend at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum to celebrate 100 years of Guiding.

1st Moira Guides recently spent a weekend at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum at Cultra to celebrate 100 years of Guiding. 45 girls lived in Victorian costumes and experienced weaving, paper making and straw work. They also enjoyed making camp fires and learning new steps at a Barn Dance.

The Guides brought their own costumes and they were as varied as Ladies of the Manor, chimney sweeps, servants, governesses, farm hands and milking maids. The Company is having a very busy year and look forward to a boat trip to Coney Island on Lough Neagh and a day out at a Theme Park in Scotland, all this before their summer camp at Lorne.
