A GALA Dinner and Dance has been held at Larchfield Estate to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Paul Orr from Citybeat was the MC and the evening included a glass of wine on arrival, three course dinner and entertainment by James Huish.

In between sets there was time for an auction and ballot which proved to be very successful and the charity wishes to thank those who gave so generously.

Auction prizes were kindly provided by Margaret Forbes Jewellers, Malcolm's Jewellers, Venture Photography, Oakley Art and The Fatted Calf. Many other businesses, too many to mention, provided ballot prizes.

Larchfield Estate provided sponsorship for the event and called in a few favours to keep costs down and the evening raised the fantastic net sum of £8000.

All monies raised will be used to provide nursing care at home for those who are ill with cancer and much needed support for families at such a traumatic time. Further information about the charity can be found at www.mariecurie.org.uk The Lisburn and Hillsborough Fundraising Group organised the event. They are keen to recruit new members. Please speak to Amanda Scott on 9088 2067 if you are interested.
