Glenavy waits on news of world record attempt

Four week wait after 528 take part in bid

Taking part in the world record attempt at St. Joseph's GA

THE village of Glenavy could soon be celebrating a world record.

Members and friends of St. Joseph's Gaelic Club are keeping their fingers crossed the official word will come through in the next four weeks after their world record bid last Sunday.

The club tried to record the most people taking part in a GAA coaching session during the La na GClub day in the village.

Taking part in the world record attempt at St. Joseph's GAThe official count on the day was 528 participants which included three members of the Antrim Ireland Ladies winning team. Official witnesses were Sir George and Lady Bain, Thomas Burns MLA and Fr Luke McWilliams.

It was a great day and we will just have to wait and see now if we can claim a Guinness World Record," explained Terry Cormican from St. Joseph's.
