Big thank you from Lisburn.com

Could there not have been another way?

Good Morning Jim (our time here on the West Coast of Canada)
I wrote a poem some time ago about how I felt at that time about my Christian life. It still keeps me in perspective when I feel "superior"

I thought you might share it with the folks of Lisburn.com I wish you and everyone who frequent the Lisburn.com website a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2008

Oh God, why on that cross of Calvary?
Did thine only son have to die for me?
Could there not have been another way?
For my transgressions to be taken away.

Could the blood of sheep not be accepted?
Or even that of cattle, goats or doves;
Could there not have been another way?
For my transgressions to be taken away.

I could try to keep thy holy commandments;
I could work for thee as no one before.
Could there not have been another way?
For my transgressions to be taken away.

Oh God, the guilt I feel within my bosom
That someone else should die in my place.
Should there not have been another way?
For my transgressions to be taken away.

I read in the scriptures that only Gods blood;
Is the perfect result for a sinners gain!
Should there not have been another way?
For my transgressions to be taken away.

It was I who deserved that cruel crucifixion.
Not He, who could, nor would not sin;
Should there not have been another way?
For my transgressions to be taken away.

I cry unto Jesus through thy Holy Spirit;
To save me from that awful wrath of God.
There could not have been another way;
For my transgressions to be taken away.

What the Father had prepared from eternity past.
Is the perfect design of a sinner's redemption.
There could not have been another way;
For my transgressions to be taken away.

Praise and Hallelujah, for the Son of God.
He has no fury left for this sinful man.
There could not have been another way;
For my transgressions to be taken away.

To the Glory of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
