HISTORY

In 1948 the Rev. W. P. Nicholson opened Dromara Christian Workers’ Union Hall.  In the years that followed a great work was done in the preaching of the Gospel, in Sabbath School work, and in special conferences services.  Many especially recall the Boxing Day conferences when every seat was taken.  By 1998, however, numbers attending the Hall had declined, and those involved in the Hall felt the time had come to hand on the work to others.  An approach was made to the Kirk Session of Moneyslane Free Presbyterian Church, who agreed to take on the maintenance of the witness as an extension work from

Moneyslane. Since that time, work has been done on the repair of the building and a service has been held at 3:30pm on the first Lord’s Day of each month.  The minister of Moneyslane Free Presbyterian Church, the Rev. William McDermott, usually conducts this service, with help from visiting preachers from others areas.  In addition to the monthly afternoon services, several Gospel Missions have been conducted in the hall, and special services for the children of the area.
