at Dromore Orange Hall

 At a meeting of Lower Iveagh District LOL No 1 held in Dromore Orange Hall on Wednesday evening (14th January) attended by the Most Worshipful Robert Saulters (Grand Master), the installation of office bearers was conducted by Bro Victor Harrison (County Grand Master) and Bro Samuel Walker (Deputy County Grand Master).

Newly appointed office bearers and committee members for 2009-2010 are as follows:

Following his installation as District Master, Bro Dr Jonathan Mattison, who is employed as Special Projects Officer at Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland Headquarters, Schomberg House, Belfast, spoke appreciatively of the faithful work done by his enthusiastic predecessor Bro Eric Jess, who worked tirelessly during a busy two years in office saying that he would be a hard act to follow.  Both Bro Mattison and Bro Coburn, who replaced him in the deputy chair, congratulated all newly appointed office bearers and committee members saying that they were looking forward to working with them as together they give leadership to all 570 brethren that make up the 23 lodges of Lower Iveagh District LOL No 1.

The Most Worshipful Robert Saulters (Grand Master), presented Bro Eric Jess with his Past District Master’s collarette and certificate after which Bro Jess thanked all the district officers for the support he received during his 2 years in office.  He went on to speak of his pride in leading the district at the Twelfth Demonstration in his home town of Dromara concluding that each time he stepped out to lead the district he did so with the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour. 

Supper, which was prepared by Bro Jim Wilkinson and Bro Robert Jess, was served following the installations.
