Seven members of 6th Lisburn Scout Troop received their Chief Scout Gold Award at an award ceremony in Craigavon Civic Centre last Friday evening (9th January).  The Chief Scout Gold Award is the highest award achievable in the Scout section.  To qualify the scouts had to complete a minimum of eight challenges using their knowledge and experience.  This took over two years to carry out and included a two day sailing and camping expedition from Newtownards Yacht club to Rea Island, an overnight hike in the Mourne Mountains and being an assistant leader in other sections in the scout group.
