Mayor launches cross-community course ‘Transforming our Community’

Lisburn City Council Mayor Councillor Ronnie Crawford has launched a cross-community course entitled ‘Transforming our Community'. The course is being run in partnership with Dromore Presbyterian Church, Lisburn City Council and the Presbyterian Church in Ireland (PCI) Peacemaking Programme.

Speaking at the launch, the Mayor said: “The aim of the course is to enable participants to explore the links between faith, the Gospel and community relations in the Lisburn area.  Each week the course will cover a different topic to broaden the knowledge of the participants.”

The ‘Churches Together in Lisburn’ initiative invites you to participate in a five-week cross-community course that is being held in the Island Civic Centre. Lagan Valley Island on Monday evenings from 9th February to 9th March inclusive, with each session running from 7.30-9.30pm.

Councillor Crawford concluded: “The course is being organised as part of Lisburn City Council’s Good Relations Programme which has received support from the Community Relations Unit in the Office of First Minister and Deputy First Minister.  The sessions will be co-ordinated by Mrs Laura Coulter, Peace making Officer, Presbyterian Church in Ireland and Mr John Blair, Outreach Co-ordinator, Harmony Hill Presbyterian Church, Lambeg”.
