RAILWAY Street PW held their annual service in the church on Sunday morning February 19.

The service was led by the PW leader Phyllis Spence and the guest speaker was the Rey Jacqueline Hartsmith Foy, Torre del Mar, Spain (supported by Board of Mission Overseas).

Conducted by Janet Ferguson, Director of Music and accompanied by Bertha Cowan, a choir comprising members of Railway Street PW, formed especially for the occasion, sang, 'Hide me now under Your wings'. The children's spot was led by Barbara Bailie and Heather Henry. Prayers were led by Valerie Tweedie (PW Home Vice President) and Anna Morrison and the Scripture lessons were read by Deborah Hyland (PW Central Committee) and Marilyn Kerr.

In keeping with this year's PW theme 'Under His wings' the Rev Hartsmith Foy, spoke of the everlasting arms that hold us eyen in dark lonely times in our lives when God seems far away. Speaking of a future life after death she said that when we live in Christ we die in Christ and God calls us from one life to another. She concluded by pointing out the comforting assurance that we know what the future holds - because the Lord holds the future.

At the PW service in Railway Street Presbyterian Church are L to R: Margaret Scott (Treasurer), Phyllis Spence (Leader), Rev Jacqueline Hartsmith Foy (Guest Speaker), Barbara Bailie (Deputy Leader) and Elizabeth Bridgett (Secretary).
