Roy
Walker, former Manager of Crusaders Football Club was the
special guest speaker at an Evangelistic Service in Christ
Church Parish, Lisburn on Sunday 30th April 2006.
The Rector, the Rev. Paul Dundas led the service and conducted
an interview with Stirling McCoy, a guitarist in the Parish’s
Praise Band. Richard Yarr -
Director of
Music, the
Curate, the Rev. Dianne Matchett and ‘Salt’, the Parish’s praise
group led the worship. In his address, Roy Walker, one of the
leadership team with Crown Jesus Ministries, spoke about the
need to be ready for the Lord’s return and to live ‘One Way -
God’s Way’. Roy recalled his humble upbringing in East Belfast
where his mother kept the little house so clean and tidy, and
went on to speak of his assurance of one day going to a mansion
as referred to his text, “In my Father’s house are many
mansions.” He went on to ask, “Do you know Jesus?” and
explained that many people know of God, but the only way to Him
is through a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus. He
emphasised the need to accept Jesus by faith stating that,
“religion will not save, good works will not save, only Jesus
Saves”.
