‘Fish Goes Large’ an interactive
multi-media event was held in Elmwood Presbyterian Church,
Ballymacash, last Saturday night. (Saturday 11th
March). The event, which was attended by about 150 young
people, was organised and led by Elmwood’s Youth Worker, Stephen
Auld and the Youth Fellowship group, known as FISH. The
programme included Competitions, Mime, Drama and Gunge Tank.
The praise was led by Natalie Ward - Piano and the praise band
with solos beautifully sung by Mel Anderson; and the worship was
led by Philip Kerr from Crown Jesus Ministries, whose
“Life-Changing message included a challenge to become a
Christian and give everything to God.”
Other forthcoming plans at Elmwood
Presbyterian Church include ‘Connect’ events. These are special
evening services arranged for Sunday 19th March,
Easter Sunday 16th April and Sunday 14th
May, all at 6.30pm. ‘Connect’ is being billed as “church with a
difference” and the aim is to draw in those on the outside or at
the fringes of church life in order to encourage and challenge
them.
The folk at Elmwood are also looking
forward to a Community Weekend at the end of May, with plans to
throw open their doors to the whole Ballymacash community for a
Fun Day in the church grounds on Saturday 27th May
and a special community morning service on Sunday 28th
May, at which it is hoped there will be many community
representatives in attendance and participation by the
Ballymacash Primary School choir.
