Before the French Church was Built this church served the French Huguenots who lined in the district After the French Church closed they rejoined this congregation where many descendants still worship.

Psalter by Clemen Marot and Theodore De B?e. The titlee page has a coloured woodcut depicting a printer working at a hand-operated printing press and a compositorn setting up a form. This edition of Marot and B?e's version of the psalms was sold at Charenton, the Huguenot Church outside Paris. It was published by Antoine Cellier `residing in Paris, rue de la Harpe at the Press of the Rose Bushes'.

Glenavy Parish Church Chalice, 1690 In the winter of 1689-90  Schomberg's Williamite army dispersed to quaters in many parts of Ulster. His English Major-General Sir John Lanier and the cavalry officers under his command. presented this communion plate to glenavy, where they were stationed.

Richard Boomer (born 1850) son of Rene Boomer of Old Park, Lisburn. He had two sons, Rene and Walter, the latter was killed in the First World War. The name Rene has been handed down to the present generation.
