DERRIAGHY couple Tommy and Betty Hanthorne recently celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversary.

Tommy is originally from Branty, Co.Tyrone and Betty (nee Blackburn) was born in Limavady. She trained to be a teacher and met Tommy when she took up her first job in Dyan near Caledon. They married in Second Limavady Presbyterian Church and honeymooned in England.

New jobs brought them both to Belfast and then to Derriaghy where they have happily remained for fifty tears.

Their daughters Margaret and Helen helped them celebrate their big day and arranged a few surprises to make it extra special.
