As part of the ongoing celebrations marking the centenary of Dunmurry Orange Hall, members of Dunmurry True Blues LOL No 1046 carried two banners on the twelfth demonstration at Dunmurry last Saturday 12th July. The historic occasion for the lodge coincided with the recent centenary celebrations at Saint Colmans Parish Church as both the Orange Hall and Parish Church were opened in 1908 and one of the lodge members, the late Bro James Connor Gray was present when the foundation stones of each building were laid.

One of the banners depicts Dunmurry Parish Church and the other shows a picture of the late Bro James Connor Gray PDM, which was carried by his grandson (also called James Connor) together with his great-grandson Matthew, from the demonstration field at which Bro Connor Gray, currently Worshipful District Master of Derriaghy LOL No 11 chaired the platform proceedings. The current WDM Connor Grays father the late James Connor Gray PM gave over 50 years service to the lodge until his death in 1980.
