Dromore packed for �Black Saturday� demonstration

Saturday 30th August

After a rainy month the last Saturday in August took a turn for the better allowing officers and Sir Knights of Largymore No 9 District to enjoy a great day out in fine weather at the County Grand Black Chapter Demonstration in Dromore on Saturday 30th August.  The Lisburn preceptories from Drumbo, Broomhedge, Purdysburn, Hillsborough, Anahilt and Sprucefield were one of a total of 13 districts taking part in the �Black Saturday� gathering.  They joined hosts, Lower Iveagh Royal Black District Chapter No 1 and some 100 bands as they paraded from the assembly field on the Ballymacormick Road through a packed Dromore town centre to the demonstration field on the Kilntown Road, just off the Lurgan Road.

Largymore Star of the North RBP 198 gathered at Lisburn Orange Hall and led by Ballycoan Flute Band, paraded to the Saintfield Road.  After breakfast at the Halfway House they journeyed to Dromore for the demonstration and enjoyed a three-course dinner on their return.

Hillhall Golden Star RBP 1074 gathered at the Robert Watson Memorial Hall, Hillhall and led by Poyntspass Silver Band, paraded to Longstone Street.  After breakfast at Moira Baptist Church they journeyed on to Dromore for the demonstration and enjoyed a salad on their return.

Elijah�s Chosen Few (Total Abstenance) RBP 871 gathered at Lisburn Congregational Church and after a delightful cooked breakfast journeyed to Dromore.
