MOTORCYCLE enthusiasts were out in force on Sunday (May 6) at the Island Centre for the sixth annual Lisburn Girder Fork Motorcycle Run organised by Lambeg couple Joan and David Crawford on behalf of the Vintage Motor Cycle Club Northern Ireland Section.

More than 50 people watched the start of the popular event including Lisburn Mayor Councillor Trevor Lunn and his wife Laureen.

At noon the 19 riders from all over the province and one from Dublin left in the rain for a 40 mile run through the country lanes towards Killyleagh Castle where they made a short stop.

The sun shone from there to the meal stop at Temple Golf & Country Club where they were shown a short film on the British Motorcycle industry before being joined by the Mayor and Mayoress for the meal.

Everyone enjoyed a safe ride with only one machine having to finish the run in the van.

Organisers would like to thank everyone who helped in any way especially Lisburn City Council for its continued support for the event, the excellent photography coverage by Navarat Turner and Robert Bryson the backup driver.
