Hilary Ferguson, Co-ordinator of Youth Ministry was commissioned in First Lisburn Presbyterian Church last Sunday morning (2nd November). Richard McNeight, Convenor, Youth-Sub Committee introduced Hilary to the congregation and the minister; the Rev John Brackenridge conducted the act of commissioning. Perry Reid, Clerk of Session gave a welcome and greeting and Audrey Steele led a proclamation of our faith. Tanya Surgeon, Nikki Lunn and Maureen Staniland, representing youth, leaders and Kirk Session led the prayers.

The Scripture lessons, 'God�s call to Abraham� and �Salvation is for all�, were read by Cecil Kirkwood. A powerpoint DVD of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland�s �Treasure Box� 2008-2009 Youth and Children�s Project was shown.

The praise was led by Tom Whyte who presided at the organ and the Praise Band. Congregational singing included, �O Jesus I have promised�, �Lord I come to You� and �Be Thou my vision�.

In a challenging address to Hilary and the congregation, Mr Brackenridge spoke on the Light Years Theme: �God�s call�.
