THE Rev James Todd was installed into the Ministry of St Columba's last Friday night. There was a great turn out to mark the occasion with representation from the Presbytery of Dromore, and guests including friends of St Columba's and many friends of the Todd & Dickinson extended family circle.

The Moderator of the Dromore Presbytery, Rev David Porter presided over the service and worship commenced with a rousing rendition of "There is a Redeemer".

The Rev Jim Briggs, a member of St Columba's congregation read the Scripture Reading Phillippians 2: 1-11 and the sermon was delivered by Rev William Henry. Organist, Mrs Myrtle Campbell provided the musical accompaniment.

The Rule of Faith was read by Clerk Rev John Davey and following the Act of Installation the Charge to minister & congregation was given by the Convenor of the vacancy, the Rev Brian Gibson, of Railway Street Presbyterian.

The service was brought to conclusion with the hymn "Oh Breath of Life" followed by the Benediction.

When the formal proceedings were over, Clerk of Session, Jim Moore welcomed the Rev Todd, his wife Sharon and children Rachael and Mark. Elder, Winnie Ferguson presented flowers to Mrs Todd.

A vote of thanks was given to Rev Brian Gibson for overseeing the vacancy, and to the Rev Jim Briggs; Rev David McConaghy and Rev William Harshaw for their Ministry over the past 15 months. Gifts were presented to them as a token of appreciation. Rev James Todd thanked everyone for their warm welcome and for those who helped organise the Installation service and for the warm welcome he and his family had received. During the supper the Rev John Dickinson gave a short address and the evening was rounded off with congregational singing which was both moving and inspirational. The music was provided by Rachael Todd (on keyboard) and Mark Todd (on drums).

The Rev Todd commenced his ministry on Sunday 29 June at morning and evening service. The Kirk Session and congregation of St Columba's thank everyone who contributed to this special occasion and for the valuable support given during the vacancy period.
