Epilogue services during July and August

Four city centre churches join for evening worship during July and August

During July and August, the congregations of four of the Lisburn City Churches, Lisburn Cathedral, Seymour Street Methodist, First Lisburn Presbyterian and Railway Street Presbyterian will join for an Epilogue Service each Sunday evening at 8.00pm.

Last Sunday evening was the turn of Lisburn Cathedral. The Rev. Ken McGrath - Lisburn Cathedral led the service and Mrs Esther Wells - Seymour Street Methodist read a portion of Scripture from Luke 10. 38 42 entitled Jesus visits Martha and Mary. The Rev. John Brackenridge - First Lisburn led prayers of intersession for International Goodwill, Leaders of Government and for the effects of recent days in London. In his sermon, the Rev. Bob Lockhart - Railway Street, pointed out the importance of getting our priorities right and explained that if we choose the better part the cares of the world will grow strangely dim, in the light of His Glory and Grace (as quoted in the well known hymn Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus). Richard Thompson - Lisburn Cathedral, was in charge of the audio equipment and the organist was Edward Craig - Lisburn Cathedral.

Refreshments were served after the service providing the opportunity for members from each congregation to meet, chat and make new friends. Arrangements for the Epilogue Services during the remainder of July and August are as follows:
